These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RockRooted iOS application and the website at rockrooted.com (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully — they include important information about subscriptions, the scope of the AI Coach, and what RockRooted is not.
By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Service. By using it you confirm you are 18 or older. The Service is not designed for, and we do not knowingly provide it to, anyone under 18.
RockRooted is a personal development and coaching application. It offers journaling, structured coaching tools, mood tracking, and AI-assisted reflection.
RockRooted is NOT a substitute for professional mental health treatment, therapy, psychiatry, or medical advice. It cannot diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.
If you are dealing with a mental-health or medical concern, please consult a qualified professional. Do not rely on the Service for clinical decisions.
If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or a mental health crisis — stop using the app and contact emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
UK: Samaritans 116 123 (free, 24/7)The Service includes a background safeguarding process that scans journal content for crisis keywords so our team can ensure appropriate resources are available. This is a safety measure — it is not a substitute for contacting a crisis service yourself.
The Service includes an AI-assisted coach. Responses are AI-generated. They are not professional guidance, medical advice, therapy, or counselling. They may contain errors, omissions, or interpretations that do not match your situation. Use your own judgement and consult qualified professionals when needed.
AI Coach messages are processed by Anthropic per its own terms — see the Privacy Policy for details.
The Service offers a free tier and a paid RockRooted Pro tier. Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store.

Prices shown in your local currency at point of purchase may vary. The exact price and trial details for your region are displayed by Apple in the App Store confirmation sheet before you confirm any purchase.
To cancel a subscription or free trial: open iPhone Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions → RockRooted and choose Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; you retain access to Pro until the end of the current billing period.
RockRooted cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf. Cancellation must be performed in your iPhone Settings.
Refunds are issued by Apple at Apple's discretion under Apple's published refund policy. RockRooted does not process refunds directly. No refunds are given for partial subscription periods.
If you previously subscribed and your subscription is not reflected on a new device, tap Restore Purchases in Settings or on the paywall screen.
You own the content you create in the Service — your journal entries, mood notes, tool inputs, and AI Coach messages. You retain all rights to that content.
By using the Service you grant RockRooted a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, transmit, and process your content solely to provide the Service to you. This licence does not allow us to:
You can delete any individual entry from the Journal at any time, or delete all your content at once by deleting your account (see Privacy Policy section 10).
You agree that you will not:
Faith Mode and Grace Mode are optional. Faith content — including Scripture references and faith-rooted coaching language — is offered as one available perspective and framework. It is not religious instruction. All beliefs are respected. Both modes can be toggled off at any time in Settings → Coaching Mode.
The RockRooted name, the 🌱 mark, the app design and visual identity, the structured coaching frameworks (including "Root to Fruit", "BDHR" — Be · Do · Have · Remember — the five archetypes, and the wording of the structured tools), the written content of the in-app articles, and the software itself are owned by RockRooted or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or publish any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, particularly the acceptable use section, or if continued access would create a risk of harm to you or others. We will give reasonable notice except where safety, security, or legal obligations require immediate action.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RockRooted disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components, or that AI Coach responses will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RockRooted, its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any decisions you make based on AI-generated content.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations above apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law, and nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold RockRooted harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
The Service integrates with services provided by Apple, Supabase, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Resend, and Expo. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Links to each provider's privacy policy are listed in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. For material changes, we will notify you in-app and, where required by law, ask you to acknowledge the change before continuing to use the Service. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
